Symphony No. 7 by Shostakovich will be played on the eve of Victory Day, TASS reports. The legendary work will be performed by more than a hundred musicians of the Baltic Sea Philharmonic orchestra. Russian musicians are going to play along the representatives of the Baltic republics and European countries.

The concert will be held as part of the Music of the World international project, which is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War. It is conducted by the Open Sea Foundation for Cultural and Educational Programs.

According to the head of the fund, Mikhail Simonyan, it was assumed that the concerts would take place on German, Austrian, Bulgarian venues. He regretted that due to the unfavorable epidemiological situation, the plans had to be adjusted.

Each of the 108 musicians, while remaining in isolation at home, prepared a recording of the first part of Symphony No.7 in both video and audio versions.

The symphony will be broadcasted from the Victory Museum on Poklonnaya Hill on the Open Sea Foundation website. The project will also bring together more than 40 public and cultural figures, doctors, athletes who will congratulate the audience on Victory Day.
