About 155 thousand Russian citizens returned to their homeland over the past ten days, RIA Novosti reports. This was announced by Evgeniy Dietrich, head of the Ministry of Transport.

About 15,000 Russians flew in from countries with which air traffic was limited or terminated.

Starting from March 27, Russia completely stopped air traffic with other countries. From March 30, the state limited traffic through the state border at automobile, pedestrian, rail, river and mixed checkpoints. The aim of these measures is to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus infection.

Earlier, the head of the Russian government, Mikhail Mishustin, assured that the Russian authorities would not leave their citizens stranded abroad, they would be helped to return home.
