Dozens of soloists and music groups from Russia, Denmark, New Zealand, Croatia and the CIS countries have applied to take part in St. Petersburg International Russian Miracle Balalaika Week. The street festival is planned to be held this summer in the Alexander Park of St. Petersburg, according to the website of the Committee on External Relations of the city.

The organizing committee has started to select participants. Applications came from balalaika from one and a half dozen regions of Russia. The Belarusians have become the most active among foreign applicants.

It is reported that the festival will include a balalaika competition, a waltz evening with the participation of musicians from St. Petersburg and foreign guests, and gala concerts. There will also be an interactive venue called Balalaiker Town, a zone of balalaika master classes and a fair.

The goal of the International Balalaika Week, which has been held since 2018, is to promote St. Petersburg as the birthplace of a concert balalaika.
