Map of Yesenin’s trips to US to be published on poet’s 125th birthday

Sergei Esenin's journey to the United States is going to be publish on honor of the poet's 125th anniversary,  TASS reports. It will be a continuation of the World Map of Yesenin Places project.

The first part, called "European Vector", was released three years ago. The second part is called the "American Vector." It tells about the stay of Yesenin and his wife, the famous dancer Isadora Duncan, overseas in the early 1920s.

The book combines not only a detailed description of the route of their trips, but also geographical maps of that era, a modern guide and multimedia materials. Olga Voronova, head of the Esenin Research Center of Ryazan State University, called the project one of the most important in the framework of the anniversary year.

The poet spent four months in the United States. He accompanied his wife on a tour. During his stay in the United States, Yesenin visited a dozen American cities. For the most part they are located on the east coast.

The result of his trip was a journalistic essay Iron Mirgorod, many of his impressions were included in the Country of villains poem.

The funds for the publication were allocated by Esenin Museum-Reserve in Konstantinov. In total, a thousand copies will be released.
