Theaters from Russia and Ukraine to take part in Berlin theater contest

The performances of theaters from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vologda and other cities of Russia, as well as Ukrainian Zaporozhye and Nikolaev, will become participants in the 14th Golden Key Competition for children and youth theater groups, which will be held at the Russian House of Science and Culture in Berlin. The competition will be attended by 10 theaters.

Viewers will see performances in different genres - based on the famous fairy tales of Russian and foreign authors, musicals, puppet shows, as well as performances in ballet and opera genres. The competition will open with a screening of Sold Laughter musical performed by the Serebryany Klyuchik children's musical theater from St. Petersburg.

The program includes theatrical interpretations of famous fairy tales and recognized masterpieces of world literature. For example, the Moscow Studio of Young Creativity will bring to Germany The Wizard of the Emerald City, the Obninsk Stage Theater - a stage version of Ray Bradbury’s novel Dandelion Wine.

The competition will end with a gala concert, which will be held in the form of an actors’ party. The winners will be announced during the concert.
