About 25,000 events were held as part of the Year of the Theater program, the website of the Ministry of Culture reports.

The head of the Union of Theater Workers of Russia Alexander Kalyagin underlined that the large-scale cultural project covered 85 regions. He also recalled that the theater competition moved from one place to another and the number of its participants exceeded 90 cities, 450 events were held within the marathon. Events were held as part of the project, Kalyagin recalled.

According to the representative of the Ministry of Culture Oksana Kosareva, it was very important for the department that the Year of Theater was not limited by capitals. For the first time, she added, it was possible to organize an open dialogue of such a huge scale. Each region held its own actions: forums, round tables, seminars and much more.

The representative of the Ministry of Culture promised that many of the ideas of the Year of Theater will be carried on in the future. “Therefore, we are not summing up the results but continue to work,” Oksana Kosareva stated.
