Russian gymnasts sweep all gold medals at first stage of Grand Prix in Moscow

The Russians won in all disciplines of the first stage of the Grand Prix series in rhythmic gymnastics, TASS reports. The competitions were held in the Irina Viner-Usmanova Palace of Rhythmic Gymnastics in Moscow.

The Russian team did not give away a single gold medal to the rivals. Daria Trubnikova got her gold medal for club exercise, Dina Averina became the best in exercises with a ribbon and a ball, and Ekaterina Selezneva remained undefeatable in competitions with a hoop. According to the coach of the Russian national team Irina Viner-Usmanova, all the girls showed their new programs.

In addition, the Russians won gold medals in group exercises with three hoops and two pairs of clubs, in exercises with five balls (33,900), personal and team all-around.

The competition gathered a full house in the stands, and the support of the fans, according to the athletes, helped them to achieve high results.

The Grand Prix series will continue on February 29 and March 1 in Estonia. Competitions are the stage of preparation for the Olympic Games, which will open in Tokyo on July 24.
