Two contests dedicated to poet Brodsky announced in UK

An international contest of drawings and a readers competition, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Russian poet Joseph Brodsky, are announced in the UK with the support of Russian and British organizations. The competition is open to children and adolescents from different countries, the acceptance of work started on February 1, according to the Rossotrudnichestvo website.

The international drawing contest called Joseph Brodsky Through the Eyes of Children invites participants from 6 to 18 years old to express their feelings from reading the poet's poems on a piece of paper. The organizing committee accepts drawings until March 30. The best work will be exhibited for guests of a special evening, which will be held at the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in London.

The readers competition accepts works from participants from 14 years old, they can choose any Brodsky’s work. The best readers will be named on April 23, the award ceremony will be held on May 22, two days before the 80th anniversary of Joseph Brodsky.

The competitions will be held within the framework of the Culture Beyond Borders project with the participation of the Year of Joseph Brodsky preparation committee, with the support of Russian and British organizations.
