The entire government of the Russian Federation is resigning, according to RIA Novosti. This was stated by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev after the Presidential Address to the Federal Assembly.

During the meeting between the head of state and members of the government, Medvedev recalled that a number of fundamental changes to the Constitution were outlined in the message.

In his opinion, it is obvious that ministers should provide the Russian president with the opportunity to make all the necessary decisions for these changes. In accordance with article 117 of the Constitution, the government in its current composition has resigned.

Vladimir Putin expressed gratitude to each member of the government for joint work, despite the fact that not everything turned out as it was planned. He added that he was going to meet with each of them soon. The president also asked the government members to fully perform their responsibilities.
