Three athletes from Russia will be among the top 20 tennis players in the world according to the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), the full list will be announced on January 13. This number of Russians among the best tennis players in the world appears in the list for the first time in 15 years. Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev and Karen Khachanov were included in the list, TASS reports.

The highest position among Russian tennis players is taken by Daniil Medvedev, who moved to fourth place after a series of high achievements in tournaments. Khachanov will become the sixteenth best tennis player in the world, while Andrey Rublev moved to 18th place after a recent victory at the tournament in Doha.

The last time Russian tennis players celebrated such an achievement was in 2005, when Marat Safin, Nikolay Davydenko and Mikhail Yuzhny were among the leaders of the ATP list.

The President of the Russian Tennis Federation (FTR) praised the achievement of Russian men's tennis, stressing that no country, except Russia, is represented by three athletes in the top 20. According to him, all three Russian tennis players continue to develop their skills and, if they can continue their careers without injuries, will achieve great success.
