New Year night held by compatriots in Mauritius

Russian compatriots living on the island of Mauritius celebrated the New Year. Children and their parents were invited to an event organized at the club of the Russian Embassy. About sixty families from Russia and other republics of the former Soviet Union became the guests of the event, the website of the World Coordinating Council of Organizations of Russian Compatriots reports.

The guests watched the New Year performance staged by the students of the Teremok educational center. Games, quizzes and round dances with Father Frost and Snow Maiden were organized for children.

After the holiday, the head of the Coordinating Council of the organizations of Russian compatriots of Mauritius Olga Bogacheva congratulated the guests and participants on the New Year and thanked everyone who assisted in preparing the evening. Father Frost presented  the children with the New Year's gifts.
