Tverskaya Street, VDNH and almost thirty parks in Moscow will be open on New Year's Eve for mass festivities.

Residents and guests of the capital will be able to take part in festivals and discos, watch concerts and shows with the participation of famous singers and artists for free, go tobogganing and skating, RIA Novosti reports.
More than a thousand performers, groups and ensembles will take part in concert programs that will take place in the capital's parks, at VDNH and other venues. Polina Gagarina, Kristina Orbakaite, Dmitry Malikov, Egor Creed and other popular performers will appear on the stage.
Guests will be able to choose from many disco parties - from modern music to retro shows.

One of the central streets of Moscow, Tverskaya, will turn into a large festive venue on New Year's Eve: in addition to concerts and shows, circus performers — air gymnasts, clowns, and others — will perform on Tverskaya.
Moscow theaters will present more than fifty performances at the popular Moscow venues.

Rasul Gamzatov, a nationally acclaimed Avar poet, was born on September 8, 1923, 100 years ago. He was the author of "Cranes", perhaps the most touching song lyrics about war and fallen soldiers. Mr. Gamzatov did not write in Russian. Thus, we know his poetry through translations of other Russian poets. Nevertheless, one of his friends said, "Translators are unable to think up anything here".
