Parade of Father Frosts and Snegurochkas held in New York

More than 130 participants gathered for Father Frosts and Snegurochkas parade, which was held in New York. Most of the procession consisted of Russian compatriots and Russian-speaking residents of various US states, as well as guests from Russia. The parade participants performed round dances and sang Russian songs to an accordion, TASS reports.

The festive parade was organized by the Russian Youth of America Society. The procession attracted a record number of participants, gathering New Yorkers and guests from several states, including the southern ones. There number of children in New Year's costumes exceeded all the records of the previous years.

The start of the procession took place at the Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas and ended at the main New York Christmas tree, installed near the Rockefeller Center building. The parade participants congratulated passers-by on the way, gave Russian styled gifts and talked about Russian traditions of the New Year's celebration.

There were also round dances and Russian songs to the accompaniment of an accordion. The participants covered part of the way using subway, where they occupied four cars. According to the organizers, the parade of Father Frosts and Snegurochkas has become a New York tradition, the residents of the city like it very much. At the end of the festive walk, its participants congratulated the Soviet veterans on holidays.
