Within five years, fifty centers of pre-university training will begin to work abroad, TASS reports. According to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the project to create resource centers for Russian education brought together five countries. The cooperation agreement was signed by representatives of the departments of Bulgaria, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan and Turkey.

It is planned that specialists from leading Russian universities will work in the centers. They will conduct classes in the Russian language, chemistry, biology, physics and other subjects.

The Ministry of Education and Science explained that one of the key areas of the centers' activities would be the preparation of applicants from abroad for entering Russian universities. The knowledge of future students will be brought into line with the standards of the Russian educational system. Talented young people will be also selected in the centers to participate in international competitions. Thus, the centers will help to increase the prestige and popularity of Russian education in other countries.

The consortium of leading universities that will work with resource centers abroad has already included seven universities: RUDN, MEPhI, MPEI, St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Altai State University, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration.

The rector of RUDN Vladimir Filippov recalled that, according to the Education national project, Russian universities need to double the number of foreign students by 2024. Their number should reach 425 thousand people. He believes that resource centers are an important step towards the goal.
