The premiere of Sin by Russian director Andrey Konchalovsky will take place on October 27, the closing day of the Rome Film Festival. The drama film about Michelangelo is called one of the most anticipated and promising films of 2019 by the critics. In July, a copy of the film was donated to Pope Francis by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting in Italy, TASS reported.

Konchalovsky chose Rome for the premiere for a reason - it was in that city that the Italian genius lived and worked in the late 15th and 16th centuries. The film was shot in Italy, most of the roles were played by local actors, professional and unprofessional. It was reported that the lead actor Alberto Testone, a dentist by profession, had previously only once participated in the filming.

Andrey Konchalovsky will also appear at the Rome Film Festival as a co-author of the Italian film Vanya’s Earthquake, a peculiar interpretation of Anton Chekhov's play Uncle Vanya. The action of the semi-documentary tape takes place in areas of Italy affected by the earthquake.
