International festival of Russian-language theatres to be conducted in Spain

Applications are being accepted to the Second International Festival of Russian-language theatres Balaganchik that will take place in a port city on the Mediterranean coast of eastern Spain Denia, from May, 28, to June, 1 2020. Theatre plays on Russian classics or Russian folklore to be staged by children studios and theaters from different countries, the Union of Russian Compatriots in Spain and Andorra reports.

Balaganchik festival is to become the joint Russian-Spanish event. Ambassadors of Russia and Spain and representatives of various Russian organizations, Denia mayor's office and Spanish creative people are in organisation committee. At the end of the festival, participants will receive awards for the best theatre play, female and male parts and the audience award.  

According to organizers, the festival aims to promote involvement in Russian language and literature and its staging of the younger generation. Also the festival aims to develop international collaboration between theatre crews.
