The Russian Foreign Ministry called the accusations, once again brought against the Russian side about the alleged involvement of Russian soldiers in the Malaysian Boeing MH17 crash, unfounded. The charges were voiced by the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) at a press conference held on June 19, the website of the Foreign Ministry reports.

Russian diplomats say that, as before, the JIT has not presented any concrete evidence to support its unlawful statements, but it continues to deliberately discredit our country in the eyes of the international community.

The JIT, the Foreign Ministry states, operates with dubious sources of information, continuing to persistently ignore the data that the Russian side provides to the investigation.

Russia resolutely refutes the charges of refusing to cooperate with the investigation, the MFA stresses. From the first days after the tragedy, the relevant institutions in our country have done tremendous work, from declassifying data on domestic military equipment to conducting the most complex expert examinations.

Our specialists initially offered joint work but were excluded from the investigation. At the same time, Ukraine was given the opportunity to participate in investigative measures, forge evidence and negate the responsibility for not closing its airspace.

All this leads the Russian side to question the bias and one-sidedness of the investigative process. However, the Russian Foreign Ministry assured international investigators of their willingness to cooperate so that the perpetrators of the tragedy would be found and punished.

Russkiy Mir reported that the investigators concluded that the Buk anti-aircraft missile system (ZRK), from which a passenger plane was shot down in the summer of 2014, was brought to Ukraine from Russia. Earlier Russia’s MFA stated that the results of the investigation were biased.
