Sotheby's is going to put to the auction the works of famous Russian artists, TASS reports. The most valuable lots among them are the works of Vasily Polenov, Mikhail Larionov and Boris Kustodiev. The auction is to take place on June 4 in London.

It is expected, in particular, that Still Life by Larionov will be exhibited for almost two million dollars. The representatives of Sotheby's explained that the canvas had not been exposed to the general public for more than sixty years. A rare work of one of the most famous representatives of the Russian avant-garde remained with the current owner since the sixties of the last century. It was created  at the beginning of the twentieth century, before the artist left Russia.

The preliminary assessment of the Portrait of Count Alexey Pavlovich Ignatiev by Kustodiev is also very high. The picture, commissioned by Emperor Nicholas II, had to be finished by another well-known representative of the Russian art school - Ivan Repin. The picture was presented in the Tretyakov Gallery. Visitors of the Venice Biennale in 1907 also had the chance to see it.

The estimate price of The River Oyat by Polenov exceeds eight hundred thousand dollars.

A miniature chair and a table made by the masters of Peter Carl Fabergé will also be available for sale. They are made of gold and covered with enamel, each lot is estimated at half a million dollars.

The week of Russian actions is held in London twice a year - in spring and autumn. Sotheby's, Christie's, MacDougall's and Bonhams action houses participate in it.
