Russian citizen Maria Butina is to spend time in the US jail until November, 5, TASS reports. Federal Bureau of Prisons informed that Butina is held in Alexandria, Virginia detention facility. It is not yet known when she's going to be transferred to a Federal prison. It is known that she is going to be deported to Russia immediately after her release,

Russian gun-rights activist was sentenced for 1,5 years imprisonment, while she has already spent 9 months behind bars.

As Russkiy Mir reported earlier, Russian MFA named the verdict of the US court "unfair," charges "farfetched and fabricated."  Russian diplomats are sure that US justice has pushed her to self-incrimination.

According to Russian MFA representatives, the sentence was made solely due to the fact that Butina is Russian. She has become "the victim of various political forces confrontation" and anti-Russian movement that continues over the past several years. The court decision was named by Russian MFA "a shameful blot on the United States justice system."
