Russia is not a threat to Norway, the head of the Norwegian government, Erna Solberg, thinks. According to her, Oslo does not believe that there is any danger to the country from Moscow, TASS reports. The Norwegian Prime Minister stressed that this understanding was very important in matters of defence.

Solberg noted that the Russian authorities could not ignore the importance of the geographical location of Norway. At the same time, there was still no danger from Russia, the Prime Minister underlined

She also added that she had invited Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to visit Norway in the fall, when the country would celebrate the 75th anniversary of the liberation of eastern Finnmark from the Nazi occupiers.

The Norwegians retained in their memory the feat of the Red Army, which liberated the country from the Nazis. Erna Solberg assured that the country highly appreciated the sacrifice that the Soviet people made for this victory.

She was also grateful for the opportunity to take part in the Arctic Forum in St. Petersburg, noting the importance of this issue for Norway. The Prime Minister expressed her hope that Russia and Norway would succeed in strengthening cooperation in the Arctic in the future.
