The program of festival includes theater premieres, concerts, film screenings about the history of Russia, creative meetings with Russian artists and fairs with hot pancakes and pies, the website of Moscow Compatriot House reports.

The festival will start with Swan Lake performance presented by The Royal Moscow Ballet from the UK on the stage of The Helix Theater in Dublin on March 2. The main events will take place on February 10. A family party with concert and special treats will be held in Dublin.

Famous Russian composer Grigory Gladkov, songwriter for the famous Soviet cartoons such as Plasticine Crow, Last Year's Snow Was Falling and others will be one of the main guests of the festival week. He will perform several concerts with children. Lectures, seminars and debates about the history of Russia, which will be accompanied by screenings of documentaries, will also take place within the framework of the festival.

Maslenitsa festival is traditionally held with support of the Government of Moscow. The project was launched in 2010 after the cooperation agreement between the Russian and Irish capitals was signed. Associations of compatriots in Ireland and representatives of business community of the two countries also take part in organizing the festival. There was no need for promotion of the festival; more than 7000 people visited the first Maslenitsa.

The organizers note that the number of Irish people who attend these events has increased significantly during the years of the festival. The number of local residents who are interested in Russian culture and attend other events held by the Russian community in Ireland has also grown.
