Year of Mendeleev’s Periodic Table starts in France

The year dedicated to Periodic Table of Elements starts in Paris on January 29, the Ministry of Education of Russia informs. It will be held in conjunction with 150th anniversary of Dmitri Mendeleev’s discovery in accordance with the decision of the United Nations General Assembly.

The events in Russia will start on February 6 and will coincide with the Day of Science. It is celebrated on February 8, the great chemist’s birthday. 

Russian Ministry of Enlightenment announced thematic week coinciding with the Day of Science. It will be held in social networks. Instagram will start a Little Chemist family contest for children and their parents. 

Secondary school students can participate in Solve Chemical Task contest. The tasks will be available on Ministry’s pages on Instagram and VK on February 1.

The list of winners will be announced on February 6. All-Russian World Design: Reload open class dedicated to Periodic Table will be held on February 7.
