American participants to enjoy new part of Total Dictation

Total Dictation will contain four parts for the first time. Previously, the text was divided into three parts for different time zones. This year an additional fragment will appear for the US.


According to Olga Rebkovets, the head of this major educational action, its geography is expanding every year increasing the number of participants and cities.

She recalls that last year 19 cities joined the Total Dictation in the United States, this is the biggest number in the auction statistic. Spain follows it: residents of 11 cities wrote the dictation. China is not far behind. There the action took place in 10 cities.

Total Dictation popularity in North and South America is increasing significantly. The action was held not only in the USA, but also in Canada, Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica - in 26 cities of eight countries.

For the previous years the west wrote the third zone text but the high activity of the participants and the huge potential of the action on the American continents led to the appearance of a separate part.

Total Dictation starts in the Far East at 8 am, Moscow time. Three hours later, the action takes place in Novosibirsk. In three hours, central Russia joins the dictation. The action ends on the American continents at 11 pm, Moscow time.
