Russia and China to negotiate construction of joint orbital space platform

Russia and China are ready to open a dialogue to discuss setting up a joint orbital space station. Representatives of the Chinese space administration are to arrive at Moscow at the beginning of July. Delegates and representatives of the Russian Federation will discuss a possibility of construction multi-module space station with their Chinese colleagues. Chinese scientific society is interested in experience of continuous space flights of Russia and experience of building large space objects, RIA Novosti informs.

Specialists of the rocket-space branch from Beijing has also advised that China lacks critically important technologies, so it is very interested in collaboration with Russia. China intends to begin construction of the space station consisting of several modules already next year. In its turn, Russia plans to launch 3 multifunctional modules for the International Space Station in the nearest 3 years.

Russia’s experience is of interest for other countries. In particular, agreements were reached that the Energy Corporation is to develop Lunar-landing module for the space station together with NASA.
