Russian compatriots took part in World War 1 battles’ re-enactment

The largest military-historical reconstruction of World War 1 battle scenes took part place in France last weekend, according to Maxim&Co. L'Île-de-France region welcomed guests from Germany, Russia, US and France.

Re-enactment of battles with observance of all historical scenes was on the festival agenda. Besides, re-enactors took part in the military parade keeping the traditions of that time. Spectators were introduced to the crafts fair, musical concert and the costume ball.

Our country was represented by the Association of Cossacks in France, To the West! Association and the Russian Heritage in France Association. Russian compatriots demonstrated the military-medical camp of the Russian army during World War 1. Russian crafts pavilion accommodated an exhibition of the Russian peasants' costumes and installation of aristocratic life in 1914. Besides, animation games for children based on the Russian traditions were organized during the event.
