Serbian President thanks the Red Army for Belgrade’s liberation from fascists

RF Defense MinistryAnother anniversary of the Serbian capital liberation from the German fascist occupiers was celebrated in Belgrade, TASS reports.

73d Anniversary of Serbia’s liberation from the fascist invaders was celebrated on October 20. Freedom-2017 military parade was timed with this date. It marched at the military aerodrome in Serbia. More than two thousand Serbian soldiers, one hundred and thirty units of military machinery and thirty planes and helicopters took part in the parade. One hundred and twenty people were guests of the military show.

Serbian President Alexander Vuchich expressed his gratitude to all participants of the country’s liberation.. Eternal glory to the liberators of Belgrade. Thanks to national liberation army who gave freedom to our country. Thanks to the Red Army officers who took part in liberation of Belgrade, the Serbian leader said.

He is sure that at all times Serbia will celebrate this day together with Russians whose ancestors gave their lives for freedom of Serbia.

Vuchich has stressed that demonstrating its military power Serbia does not plan to threaten anybody. He has emphasized that the troops’ parade proves sovereignty and independence of the country, friendship with Russia and China.
