Christie's will auction Nikita Khrushchev’s Speech on Cult of Personality

British auction house Christie's addressed history, not culture for the first time of its existence, as per IA Interfax.

The auction will be held on April 20. Rarities reminding us of the last century’s important events and influencing the international politics will be put out for this auction.

Uprising! Geopolitical Snapshots of XX Century Auction will be organized online. It opens on April 20 and will last for a week. Document photos, posters, maps and many other rare items are among the exhibits. Some of them are related to the Great October Revolution; some of the items are connected to the war in Spain and struggle for independence in India.

Speech The Cult of Personality and its Consequences made by Nikita Khrushchev at XX CPSU Session in 1956 will be presented at the auction too. The copy of this presentation printed in Warsaw the same year was put out for the auction. The edition comprises full and abridged versions of the speech by the Soviet Leader. Preliminary price of this lot is two or three thousand US dollars.

Materials of the topic exhibition devoted to the Ukrainian industrialization in the course of the forth post-war five-year plan – from 1945- to 1950 are presented as well. These materials include almost two dozens of folding stands with photos and template inscriptions in Russian and hand-made signatures in Hebrew.

Photo album with pictures of British Royal Air Forces supporting anti-Bolshevist troops during the Civil War in Russia are exhibited to the attention of the collectors. Some pictures depict war scenes. The album with full leather binding was issued in the twenties. Its initial price is from three to five thousand US dollars.
