Evgeny Primakov, head of Rossotrudnichestvo, hopes that Russian houses will appear in Brazil and South Africa. According to him, the agency would be happy to open cultural centers there that would work fully, TASS reports.

This could not be done so far, since this would require an agreement between the governments of the two countries. So far, Primakov added, individual representatives are working there as part of embassies.

Rossotrudnichestvo is a federal executive body, which means it can open cultural centers only where there is an intergovernmental agreement. This process is being handled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a government commission, Yevgeny Primakov clarified.

Representative offices of Rossotrudnichestvo will soon start working in some African countries. According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Moscow is going to expand their network on the continent. Now they operate in eight African countries, the head of state specified.
