Lomonosov Moscow State University invited several universities of Arab countries to join the space research project, TASS reports.

The university is launching an observatory designed to observe exoplanets and black holes. It is meant for work in orbit.

MSU rector Viktor Sadovnichy added that work is also underway to create a new satellite. Arab universities can become participants of the project. According to him, if they support the initiative, then its scale will increase.

The Constellation-270 project will enable scientists to develop equipment for monitoring fast variations in particle and quantum fluxes in near-Earth space and expand the possibilities for observing phenomena such as gamma-ray bursts from the Earth's atmosphere.

Currently, there are seven spacecraft in orbit, the creation of which was carried out by the employees of Moscow State University as part of the Constellation-270 project, and six more are being prepared for launch. It is planned to create a space constellation of dozens of nanosatellites.

The issue of cooperation was discussed in the UAE, where a conference of rectors of Russian and Arab universities started the day before. The heads of the ministries of science and higher education of Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Oman, Sudan, Qatar and Libya took part in the forum. About 200 rectors and representatives of leading universities in Russia and the Arab world joined its work as well.
