French biographical drama on the life of Russian writer Anton Checkov is on release in Italian theaters on January, 26. The premier Is times with coming birthday of the writer.

The film written, directed and produced by French filmmaker René Féret and stars Nicolas Giraud as the title character, Anton Chekhov. It was released on 18 March 2015.

The life of Russia’s maestro of literary subtext roughly corresponds to 1886-1896, stretching from the discovery of young Russian physician in a new and important role of outstanding writer. His literary voice is first getting noticed by some of his peers, gradually leading to the point when his first major play, The Seagull, Is being created.
