The Russian TV series To the Lake ("The Epidemic" is the original title) entered the top-10 most interesting foreign TV series on Netflix, RIA Novosti reports.

At the end of the year, the Epidemic series hit the top 10. Netflix began airing it in October in the Original series category. For two weeks, the project stayed in the top ten most popular series of the platform around the world.

The producer of the series Valery Fedorovich called it great news. According to him, the filmmakers hoped for such a result. The producers hope that viewers around the world will be interested in Russian TV shows. The success in America - the most important territory for Netflix, where the Russian TV series ranked 8th among non-English-language projects in a year - inspires confidence that the ice has broken, Fedorovich added.

The series predicted an attack by an unknown respiratory virus on the Russian capital. It has the greatest success among Russian TV series around the world. It was included in the top 30 most watched TV projects on IMDB.com and in the top 15 on Rotten Tomatoes.
