Russian hockey team reached the semifinal of World Junior Championship

Russian U20 hockey team defeated Slovakia at the quarterfinal and advanced to the semifinal of IIHF World Junior Championship taking place in Canada, RIA Novosti informs. 

The match that took place in Vancouver ended with 8:3 score (4:0, 3:0, 1:3). Russian goals were scored by Grigory Denisenko (6th minute), Stepan Starkov (7th minute), Alexander Alexeyev (8th minute), Nikita Shashkov (11th minute), Klim Kostin (32nd and 39th minutes), Kirill Slepets (40th minute) and Ilya Morozov (53rd minute). Slovaks who excelled were Martin Fehervari (44th minute), Roman Milos (59th minute) and Michal Ivan (60th minute). 

On January 4 Russian team will play at the semifinal with the United States, while Switzerland will confront the team of Finland.
