Russian writers memorials raised in Bulgaria

Memorials dedicated to Leo Tolstoy, Alexander Griboedov, Marina Tsvetaeva, Ivan Krulov, Ilya Ilf and Yevgeni Petrov were opened in Cyrillic Courtyard cultural complex in Pliska, Bulgaria. Their memorials were raised on the Writers' Alley. 

The sculptors are Zurab Tsereteli, Alexander Rukavishnikov and other well-known artists. A handful of earth from homeland placed under each monument. According to idea of the project curator Karen Aleksanyan the exposition has to demonstrate generosity of spirit and talent of every Cyrillic-writing nation.  

Memorials of Russian classical writers Alexander Pushkin, Sergey Esenin and Fedor Dostoevsky were earlier installed in Writers Alley. Cyrillic Courtyard cultural complex was opened in 2015. It shows how Cyrillic  alphabet was created.
