Russian series will compete for main award of Series Mania Festival

Russian series titled The Common Woman will compete for the main award of Series Mania International Festival, TASS informs. The festival is held in Lille, France.

Competitors of film director Boris Khlebnikov’s work are movies produced in Austria, the Netherlands, Italy, Israel and the US. Overall 10 movies will be presented at the main contest agenda. They will be assessed by well-known actors, film directors and producers from all over the world. Organizers received almost 400 applications in total.

The first episode of The Common Woman will be screened in Russia at the end of next month. At present the production of the series continues. Anna Mikhalkova, Eugeni Grishkovets and Tatiana Dogileva are acting in the series.

Boris Khlebnikov has said that his series cannot be called a detective story. Despite the fact that this part of the movie grabs people’s attention, drama of 40-year-old woman is the center of the plot. She made up her mind to sacrifice for the sake of the family, but her sacrifice was not needed by her husband or her children.

Series Mania is believed to be one of the most prestigious TV festival of the world.
