More than 23 thousand Muslims from Russia take part in Hajj

uhammad Mahdi Karim//wikimedia.orgMore than twenty-three thousand Muslims from different Russian regions are taking part in the annual Hajj, IA Interfax advises.

Pilgrim’s journey to Mecca is one of the most important events in Islam where each capable Muslim should make Hajj at least once in their life.

At present around two million believers are in Mecca. Traditionally representatives of other religions are not allowed to the sacred Islamic city.

Majority of pilgrims came to Saudi Arabia by plane. Ministry of Culture and Information of the Kingdom commented that the county makes everything possible to welcome all believers and provide all necessary comfortable staying conditions for them. He pointed out that each pilgrim to Mecca gets an e-bracelet with encoded personal data and medical information at the arrival to Saudi Arabia. This will enable fast medical aid for them in emergencies. Besides, these bracelets will remind believers of prayers’ time and will ensure access to Multilingual Aid Center for people who do not speak Arabic.

Kurban Bayrami Festival of Sacrifice timed with termination of Hajj is celebrated September 1 this year by Muslims.
