127-year-old woman from KBR was recognized as the oldest person in Russia

Kabardino-Balkarian Republic inhabitant Nanu Shaova was announced the oldest living person in Russia, TASS reports. The centenarian who's celebrated 127 years birthday lives in Baskansk region of KBR.

Once her age was confirmed officially, the chef editor of the Russian Guinness Book of Records Staniskav Konenko came to the Kabardino-Balkaria to deliver the precious certificate personally.

The regional administration, Nanu's friends and family have participated in the presentation ceremony. According to Staniskav Konenko, the title of the oldest person in the world can be added towards the title of the oldest person in Russia. Due to his records, there's no no one older than Nanu Shaova in the world.

It is worth mentioning that last year 120-year-old (now 121) Tanzilya Bisembeeva from Astrakhan Oblast was thought to be the oldest person. As per now, these two women are the only people in the world who reached 120 years mark.
