“Russian On-Line” Project

The new project Russian On-Line, intended for foreigners who are beginning to study the Russian language, was developed by Professor S.V. Fadeev based on his experience teaching the language in countries throughout the world. The Internet portal was developed with the support of a grant from the Russkiy Mir Foundation.

The project focuses on elementary and basic levels of the Russian language, areas which foreigners find most difficult to learn in the absence of a Russian language environment.

The Elementary Level includes the following:

• Introductory Phonetics of the Russian Language (122 video clips and 1109 phonetic exercises);
• The Russian Alphabet with audio clip examples;
• Russian Numbers (a presentation and game exercises);
• Russian Grammar (44 grammatical topics and 1370 grammar exercises).

The Basic Level includes the following:

• Russian Grammar (24 grammatical topics and 720 grammar exercises);
• Let’s Speak Russian! (24 conversational themes)

All audio materials of the program are spoken by native Russian speakers. The texts are illustrated with interesting photographs, drawings and animation.

The program is currently available in two versions:

• For English Speakers
• For French Speakers

The Russian On-Line portal is a dynamic project that is constantly being improved upon based on comments and requests from users.
