The Pushkin calendar was published in Germany, Russkoe Pole reports. The Munich MIR society published the calendar to commemorate the poet's 225th anniversary, which will be celebrated in the coming year.

The oldest Russian-language organization in Germany released the Pushkin calendar for the 24th time. The current one is dedicated to the fairy tales of the great poet, as well as the entire legacy of the classic, which largely determines the Russian cultural code. The compilers paid attention to how Pushkin’s works were embodied in paintings and musical compositions, and how they were translated by German writers.

Works by Mikhail Vrubel, Ivan Bilibin, Nikolai Bogatov and other Russian artists were used for the calendar. The concept of the calendar was developed by Tatyana Lukina, who heads the MIR society, and she also became the author of the texts.

The focus was on two classic masterpieces - ''The Tale of Tsar Saltan'' and ''The Tale of the Fisherman and the Fish''.

The organizers of the project note that the calendar will delight lovers of Russian culture; it is a kind of encyclopedia of Pushkin’s fairy tales and an excellent guide to the world of Pushkin’s heritage. It is meant, in particular, for families with bilingual children and for anyone learning Russian.
