Residents of Bangkok will see The Nutcracker and Swan Lake performed by Russian dancers, TASS reports. On December 19, Russian Ballet Week starts in Thailand. It opens with a tour of the Yakobson Theater.

The ballet from St. Petersburg will be accompanied by the Bangkok Royal Symphony Orchestra. The conductor of the Mariinsky Theater Valery Ovsyanikov will take the place at the conductor's stand. According to him, this is his first experience of performing in Thailand. He hopes for a warm welcome and full houses.

The maestro noted that attempts by unfriendly countries to force the world to cancel Russian culture were unsuccessful. No political forces will be able to influence Russian culture, he is sure.

One of the organizers of the tour, Andrei Snetkov, believes that the performances of the Yakobson Theater will raise relations between the two peoples and their mutual understanding to a higher level.

The ballet will perform in Bangkok on December, 19-20, and on December, 23-24 the audience will be in Phuket province.
