Classics of Soviet cinema and new Russian films will be shown in Brazil

Classics of Soviet cinema and modern Russian films were included in the film screening program of the Mosfilm film studio in Brazil. 14 features and one documentary can be seen from October, 5 to October, 23 at the Brazilian Cinematheque. The program also includes exhibitions and creative master classes, the website of the Russian film studio reports.

Film screenings of Mosfilm films will take place for the 9th time, with special shows dedicated to Latin America. On the opening day of the festival, viewers will see Karen Shakhnazarov’s detective story ''Khitrovka. The Sign of Four'', released on big screens this year. Contemporary Russian cinema will also be presented by the historical film ''Nuremberg.''

As part of a special program dedicated to Latin American countries, films made in the USSR in the 1960s and 1970s will be shown: ''I am Cuba'', ''This Sweet Word is Freedom!'' and "Night over Chile".

The project is carried out by the Center for Popular Culture of the Municipal Union of Students of the City of Sao Paulo and the Mosfilm Cinema Concern in partnership with the Brazilian Cinematheque and the Russian Embassy in Brazil.
