Russia, China and Mongolia will develop the Great Tea Route

Russia, China and Mongolia have signed an agreement on the development of the Great Tea Route tourist route, RIA Novosti reports.

"Russia, China and Mongolia have signed an agreement on the development of the Great Tea Route. It's geography recreates the 18th century trade route for tea exports. The route stretches through China, Mongolia, Siberia, the Urals and the Volga region to Moscow and St. Petersburg created in the  18 Russian regions from the Trans-Baikal Territory to St. Petersburg are ready to join the new tourist project," the Russian Trade Mission said in a statement.

The document with the new route plan was signed by Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Dmitry Vakhrukov, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of China Du Jiang and Deputy Minister of Environment and Tourism of Mongolia Myagmarzhar Ganbaatar at a trilateral meeting of heads of tourist administrations, which was held on October 10 in Wuhan, China.  

The Great Tea Route will unite the Russian regions of the Far East, Siberia, the Urals, the Volga region, as well as Moscow and St. Petersburg.
