Robert Fico, whose party won the elections to the Slovakian parliament, believes that the war in Ukraine ''was started by fascist Ukrainians, and not Russians,'' the RT telegram channel reports.

A recording of an excerpt from an old speech by the politician has become widespread on the Internet. He claims that ''there are fascists in the ranks of the Ukrainian army.'' Robert Fico called the Azov unit, whose activities are prohibited on the territory of the Russian Federation, fascist.

He also recalled that the Western media had repeatedly written about the presence of fascists in the Ukrainian army. In addition, the politician criticizes Europe for helping the Kyiv regime with weapons.

Early parliamentary elections took place in Slovakia last weekend. The Direction - Social Democracy party received the most votes - almost 23%. The party is led by Robert Fico. He has already served as Prime Minister of Slovakia twice.

Russkiy Mir

As Russkiy Mir reported, the author of the British Guardian, John Kaempfner, believes that if Fico wins, Bratislava will radically change its policy regarding the conflict around Ukraine. John Kaempfner claims that the former Prime Minister of Slovakia sympathizes with Russia and his Hungarian counterpart Viktor Orban, whose point of view on the Ukrainian conflict differs from that accepted in the European Union.

A Guardian writer predicts the emergence of a “troublemaker” in the EU and NATO if Fico wins the election and returns to power. The British publication prophesies that Slovakia may begin to help Russia.

Previously, the former prime minister noted that sending weapons to Ukraine does not lead to peace, but, on the contrary, makes the conflict longer. He also advocated for Slovakia to reconsider its approach to the conflict, which was created to weaken Russia.
