Vladimir Spivakov performed in Strasbourg in honor of 20th anniversary of Orthodox community

The famous Russian musician Vladimir Spivakov took part in the Hour of Bach. Human, Love the World! charity concert in Strasbourg, which took place at the Center for Orthodox Culture at the Church of All Saints.  He was joined by the local musicians. The concert program included works by the German composer Johann-Sebastian Bach. The musician also shared his philosophical and spiritual thoughts with the audience.

The concert was timed to coincide with the 20 years anniversary of the Orthodox community of the Church of All Saints.  The proceeds from the concert are used to maintain the church. Vladimir Spivakov also presented the parish with a rare icon of the Mother of God.

The hipped-roof temple, made of white stone, is located in a picturesque place on the banks of the Marne Canal, which flows into the Ile, next to the Council of Europe, the European Court of Human Rights and the European Parliament.

The construction of the temple was funded thanks to voluntary donations. The funds were transferred from Russia, Germany, France,and Ukraine. There are donors from among the residents of Great Britain, Poland, Canada, the USA and even Japan. The French also took part in the fundraising.

Vladimir Spivakov was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Church of All Saints under construction, held charity concerts. He also donated an icon to the temple.
