78 Russian regions and 60 states will join the Save and Preserve international environmental campaign, held in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug (Yugra). The campaign started for the 20th time, during the period of its existence it covered over six million people from all over the world, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports.

Anti-Russian sanctions and attacks on Russia by a number of countries did not affect the campaign and its participants. Last year, diplomats from the BRICS and SCO countries, as well as other guests of Khanty-Mansiysk, took part in tree planting.

In 2022,  the Garden of Friendship initiative appeared within the campign. It was first held in Mongolia but this year Italy is taking over.

The project, which was founded in Ugra 20 years ago, is actively supported in many countries. The campaign will last until November, the program includes hundreds of various events. The project is being implemented with the support of the Northern Forum International Organization of the Northern Regions and the Russian Commission for UNESCO.
