In Klessin, Germany, a monument to the brotherhood in arms will appear in memory of the Red Army soldiers who died in the battles for the Seelow Heights shortly before the surrender of Nazi Germany, TASS reports.

Anton Torgashev, a representative of the coordinating council of the Search Movement of Russia, spoke about the installation of the monument. He noted that the opening of the monument was delayed due to unclear circumstances. Torgashev said that the project was the result of interaction with the Society for the Search for the Dead in Eastern Europe.

The brotherhood-in-arms monument may open in October. About ten years ago, the remains of Soviet soldiers who fell in the battles for the Seelow Heights were solemnly buried in Klessin.
