Turkish viewers can watch films by the world-famous Soviet film director Andrei Tarkovsky on TV. The director's features are broadcasted by the state television channel TRT2, according to the telegram channel of the Russian House in Ankara.

Films that won the world's major cinematic awards during Andrei Tarkovsky's lifetime and have not lost popularity after his death are shown on Turkish TV on Fridays. Shows will run through December.

The program included the films Ivan's Childhood, Mirror, Stalker, Nostalgia, Sacrifice, as well as a documentary about the famous film director.

Retrospective shows of Andrei Tarkovsky's films dedicated to the director's 90th anniversary were held this year in different countries. Thus, in November, Tarkovsky's films were shown on the big screen in London as part of the SIFFA film festival.
