The winner of last year's Dakar rally-marathon, the Russian team KAMAZ-Master refused to sign the questionnaire of the International Automobile Federation  condemning Russia's special operation in Ukraine. It was a mandatory condition for participation in the next rally, which starts on the last day of the outgoing year, R-Sport reports.

The Russian explained that the questionnaire had a clear political content and did not comply with the principles of equal conditions for riders. Therefore, KAMAZ-Master refused to sign the document and participate in the competition on these terms.

''We are always with our Motherland, especially when it is in a difficult situation,'' the team said.

Last year's victory of the crew of Dmitry Sotnikov made the Russian athletes two-time winners of the Dakar in the truck class, they had to start the next race in the status of current champions. In total, Russian crews won this rally 19 times.
