The Cosmoscow International Fair of Contemporary Art has started in Moscow, TASS reports. The large-scale event, which operates in Gostiny Dvor, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.

According to the founder and head of Cosmoscow, Margarita Pushkina, the main tasks throughout the years of the fair's existence have been the consolidation of the art community, the popularization of contemporary art and the joint development of the Russian art market.

More than 70 galleries became members of Cosmoscow. Most of them are from the capital but there are a few galleries from St. Petersburg, Kaluga, Vladivostok and other cities.

The exhibition space is divided into several halls, featuring limited edition art, modern and collectible design, digital art.

This year, the Cosmoscow Foundation named Valery Chtak the Artist of the Year. The stand of St. Petersburg's Marina Gisich Gallery was recognized as the best stand.

An art forum is planned as part of the exhibition. The fair is accompanied by lectures and discussions with artists, patrons, art managers and curators, performances, children's excursions and master classes.
