8th International Pyotr Tchaikovsky Arts Festival takes place in Klin

Klin is hosting the Pyotr Tchaikovsky International Art Festival for the 8th time, TASS reports. The great composer lived there for many years and wrote many of his masterpieces. The large-scale cultural forum opens on Friday, July 1. The famous pianist Denis Matsuev and the New Russia Symphony Orchestra conducted by Yuri Bashmet will take the stage. They will perform masterpieces by Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov in the large meadow of the house-museum.

The festival program includes six concerts. The Academy of Music of Maestro Bashmet, the School of Young Journalists, and the PROvision program will also work during the festival. For the first time, the Demyanovo estate will become the venue for the festival.

Yuri Bashmet, who is the artistic director of the festival, promised that each concert would be special and very bright.

The main event of the 10-day program will be the Tchaikovsky Nights project. The New Russia orchestra conducted by Bashmet, violinist Vadim Repin, ballet stars Svetlana Zakharova and Kimin Kim, singer Ildar Abdrazakov and others will perform at the Demyanovo estate.The entrance to the concert is free, and the estate can accommodate up to 5,000 people.
