Days of Russia Abroad kicks off in Sofia

Exhibitions, round table discussions, film screenings, concerts and meetings dedicated to Russians in Bulgaria are included in the Days of Russia Abroad. The event is held on December  2-8 at the Russian House in Sofia, the Russian Embassy in Bulgaria reports on Facebook.

The series of events are managed by the Russian House in Sofia and the Professor Alexander Fedotov Russian Academic Union in Bulgaria. The Days of the Russian Diaspora begins on December 2 with a press conference and the opening ceremony of an exhibition of archival documents telling about the fate of the 20th century emigrants.

The program will continue with a round table discussion on the Russian Necropolis in Bulgaria. On December 3 and 6, there will be screenings of films dedicated to representatives of the Russian diaspora. In addition, the presentation of the "Russian Abroad" International Film Festival will take place.

On December 7, guests to get acquainted with the poetry of Lyubov Stolitsa, a Russian emigrant in Bulgaria, and attend a meeting with the historian of the Russian diaspora Viktor Leonidov. The Days Russia Abroad to be concluded on December 8 with the presentation of Sergei Galani's novel A Successful Escape dedicated to Russian emigrants in post-war Bulgaria.
